The City of Bartow was incorporated in 1882 with a current population of approximately 15,500. The city lies between Tampa and Orlando just south of Lakeland on State Road 60.  In the past few years the city has quadrupled it's land area, becoming the second largest city in Polk County while maintaining a "Hometown" atmosphere.
