Our Library's catalog is now available online! Click HERE to access our catalog.

Originally founded in 1897, the early reading room finally became a Carnegie Grant library in 1915.

Our new library, pictured above, has become a popular center of activity in the community with wonderful art displays, craft exhibits and demonstrations, story telling, reading classes, computer classes, and much more.

A real treat for the eyes, the new building has rooms and quiet corners for reading and relaxing, both inside and out, and is a perfect place to have meetings and conferences. We are part of the Polk County Library Cooperative, which allows every member to secure items from any library in the system. The Bartow Public Library is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies, the Bartow Public Library provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center’s electronic databases, Foundation Directory Online Professional and Foundation Grants to Individuals Online. The fully searchable databases include detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation’s top funders. These resources are available to the public free of charge, but the databases must be accessed from a computer within the library.
